What's your name?

My name is Luqiang, you can call me John if you wish.

Where are you from?

I'm from GZ, the southernmost point of JX province, well-known for its "Hakka Culture".

Do you work or are you a student?

I'm not a student, I have been graduated for 7  years and current I'm working for a company that develops and manufactures video security devices. I'm a software engineer.

How do you think about your work?

Well, [as I have mentioned just now,] I'm a software engineer, and I think I'm really cut out for this job. First I'm not a communicative person, so I'm not good at handling interpersonal releationship, programming fits me well because I only need to concentrate on the work itself. Second this is a challenging job, and I love challenges. The major drawback is that it's too demanding, you will need a lot of time, attention and energy to deal with the problems in your work, sometimes makes me feel exhuasted.

Could you tell me about your ambitious for the future?

Well, I'm fully awared that I was not born to be a good manager, so from the very early time I have decided to embark on a career as a developer. My short term goal is to pass this exam and get the certificate, my long term goal is to join a big company, maybe a multinational company, to work in software developing. Being an expert in my industry is my career goal.

What kind of pople do you most like working with?

Well, for me I best enjoy working with driven individuals, people who are positive, energetic, and take accountability for their work. These characteristics can ensure that we can fully corporate with each other and make the best out of the team.

Do you like working in a team or in your own?

Well, I like working in a team, for efficiency consideration. As the saying goes, two heads are better than one, I can use my teammates' help in case I'm in trouble.

In fact it has been widely proved that teamwork is more effective than individual in my industry.

What sort of skills do you think a good manager needs?

Well, first, communication skills, this is the most basic skill for managers. A good manager must be able to communicate effectively with other employees. Second, the ability to delegate well, that means when delegating managers should take both the tasks and the employees' personal characteristics and skills into consideration, and make sure the employees are well informed of what they should do.

How do you normal dress for job?

Well, there is no enforced dress code in my workplace, so we are free to choose what to wear. Some people like to wear formal suit, but I prefer caual dress.
